Denise Favor Bayles, M.A., CCC-SLP

Founder, Denise Bayles’, Biography

I originally started out in college as a physical therapy major; however, in the middle of my education, I felt a calling in a different direction. I transferred from Quinnipiac College in Connecticut back to my home state of New Jersey and became a “Communication Sciences and Disorders” major. I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in January of 1993 at Montclair State College and continued there with my graduate studies. I received my Master of Arts degree in “Speech-Language Pathology” in January of 1995. Following my graduation, I completed my Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Toms River, NJ.

Since completing my CFY, I have worked in a variety of settings: rehabilitation and acute care hospitals, sub-acute rehabs and nursing homes, public schools, and private clinics. Additionally, I have been an adjunct faculty member at Montclair State University.

I take pride in continuing education and attend workshops and courses annually to stay current with the research and evidenced-based practices in the field.

In June of 2007, I decided that I needed to make a change for myself, not only as a speech-language pathologist, but also as a wife and a mother. From that decision, The Bayles Family Speech Center, LLC was born.
