Denise Bayles, M.A., CCC-SLP

I’ve been a speech-language pathologist for 31 years.

I opened The Bayles Family Speech Center in Branchburg in June 2007, after 13 years working in hospitals, nursing homes, public schools and private clinics. I moved the office to Bridgewater in 2014, where it is today.

I work with children from birth and with adults, on language, articulation, motor speech, feeding and swallowing. I’ve been an adjunct faculty member at Montclair State University, and I’m currently a co-chair of the Private Practice Committee with the New Jersey Speech-Language-Hearing Association, which keeps me close to the changes coming in our field.

Continuing education in my field is a requirement, and I attend workshops and courses every year, because what we know about how children learn to communicate keeps increasing and improving.

How I got here

I originally started out in college as a physical therapy major; however, in the middle of my education, I felt a calling in a different direction. I transferred from Quinnipiac College in Connecticut back to my home state of New Jersey and became a “Communication Sciences and Disorders” major. I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in January of 1993 at Montclair State College and continued there with my graduate studies. I received my Master of Arts degree in “Speech-Language Pathology” in January of 1995. Following my graduation, I completed my Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Toms River, NJ.

Since completing my CFY, I have worked in a variety of settings: rehabilitation and acute care hospitals, sub-acute rehabs and nursing homes, public schools, and private clinics. Additionally, I have been an adjunct faculty member at Montclair State University.

I take pride in continuing education and attend workshops and courses annually to stay current with the research and evidenced-based practices in the field.

In June of 2007, I decided that I needed to make a change for myself, not only as a speech-language pathologist, but also as a wife and a mother. From that decision, The Bayles Family Speech Center, LLC was born.

Certificates and Recognitions

In the field since 1995 and in her private practice since 2007, Denise is honored to be thought so highly of by the families she works with. Denise is grateful to every family who has voted for her over the years, and to the ones who keep sending their friends and family.
